The problem it solves

Applicants usually find out only after the rejection — or after an hour spent tailoring a resume for a role that was never a realistic match. Keyword checkers tell you which words are missing but not whether the evidence is there. A resume-fit score closes that gap: it reads your actual resume against the posting's must-haves and gives you a match you can act on before you invest the time.
How the resume-fit score works
- Upload once. Add your resume in Settings. It's parsed and stored privately, and used only to score and tailor — never posted anywhere or changed on your behalf. Resume upload is available on every plan.
- Each role gets a fit score. For every job in your pipeline, PursuitRoom matches your resume to the posting's requirements and produces a resume-fit score with a short reason — shown right next to the five preference dimensions so "does it fit my goals?" and "does my experience match?" stay separate questions.
- See the breakdown (Pro). On Pro, open a role for the full analysis: Strengths (where your evidence is strong), Potential gaps (what the posting wants that your resume doesn't show), and Recommendations (what to emphasize or add before applying).
- Tailor with intent. Use the gaps and recommendations to decide whether to apply, and what to change — then generate a tailored resume or AI cover letter (Pro and up) grounded in that same analysis, and drop the role straight into your scored pipeline.

How it's different from a keyword checker
ATS keyword tools score your resume against the words in a posting. That helps with formatting, but a role isn't a word-match problem — it's an evidence problem. Resume-fit scoring reads for the substance behind the requirements (scope, domain, level, outcomes) and pairs it with a preference score so you can tell "my resume matches" from "this role is right for me." The two together are the decision, not the keyword overlap.
Privacy & control
